Sánchez returns in San Sebastián

Samuel Sánchez will make his return to competition on Tuesday as he headlines a star-studded Euskaltel line-up for the Clásica San Sebastián.

Sánchez has been out of competition since his enforced abandonment on stage eight of the Tour de France, and only fully resumed training on August the 3rd, the team's website reports. He'll have able support in a race that's eluded himself and the team time and time again over the years (check out the roll of honour here), particularly in the shape of an on-fire Gorka Izagirre and Vuelta-bound duo Igor Antón and Mikel Landa, both making their last outing before the GT kick-off next weekend.

Mikel Astarloza will also ramp up his Vuelta preparations at his home race, while Amets Txurruka will, like Samu, compete for the first time since the Grand Boucle. Romain Sicard and Iván Velasco completes the potent line-up.

Provisional start list here.

And here's the route.
