Euskaltel survive day two in Denmark

Euskaltel got through today's first stage proper of the Giro unscathed. None of the riders got caught up in the inevitable pile-ups and will embark on the last day in Denmark without any injury worries.

Everyone bar Pierre Cazaux made it in with the peloton, from which Marc Cavendish naturally came out tops in a crash-marred sprint. The Frenchman came in with a large group 1:09 in arrears, but of course that time loss isn't of great importance.

Tomorrow's stage will take the riders on a 190km loop starting and finishing in Horsens.
