Koldo no-show

After sprinting to second two days ago, expectations were high going into today's seventh stage that Koldo Fernández might equal or, just maybe, go one better this time around. It wasn't to be though, as his lack of positioning skills once again became evident for all to see as he rolled in as number 26, never really getting close to sprinting. Pablo Urtasun was with him in those last few hectic clicks, but they failed in getting to the front when it mattered and were forced to watch the mad dash for the line unfold from afar. Igor came through yet another day without any major mishap and is still excellently placed for a tilt at the red jersey in tomorrow's vital stage to the Xorret del Cati. Amets Txurruka once again had to let go of the peloton when the pace was upped considerably inside the last 10 kilometres, finishing up a minute or so down. Beñat Intxausti can't seem to get going in this race and came in on his own two minutes adrift. Poor Beñat really needs to get his head sorted if he is to be to any help for Igor in the coming days.
